Are you looking for ways to help?
Our Pathways and Voice Project students are in increasingly challenging situations, and we need your help. Of those who were working, 100% of them have been laid off from their jobs due to the coronavirus pandemic. These are students who were already impacted in our community by a lack of equitable access to resources (i.e. housing, food, healthcare). This is an extremely important time to support people who are already made vulnerable.
Even though our gym is closed, it’s important for us to continue to support these students and stay connected.
How can you help?
Build a care package. Each care package should include: toilet paper (surprise, surprise), snacks/food, gift certificates for grocery stores, and a game/puzzle/journal/fidget gadget. We’ve already connected the students with yoga mats and therabands so they are able to continue to experience the mental health benefits of moving and exercising at home. Email rhen@thecircusproject.org to sign up.
We are also looking for donations of a webcam or smartphone to support online training, and gift cards to pet stores for those with emotional support animals.
If you are able, please make a gift to our Emergency Fund. Social connections and healthy movement have always been our core mission, and are especially important right now.
